Through us is a Research for the master ‘performing public space’. For this research Marth conducted several public space interventions.
“Trough different interventions I want to make people think about what they (un)consciously see as community and their sense of belonging. Most of the time community is linked to provenance or language which is logical because we consider the known as safe. But by doing this the communities we create are automatically excluding. I want to question this need for the known in communities and by this create the opportunity for truly open communities and therefore belonging.”
‘Wandering Words’
Words of Connection, divided by languages
Which word is for you connected to feeling part of something/feeling at home? The answers are wandering around on biodegradable balloons.
Coincidence decides who gets involved.
‘Headless Hugs’
Intimacy without identity.
Looking for connections, hiding inside a bread-bag. While this project was originally looking for the importance of identity in a community, i refound the importance of humor through it.
‘Welkom Thuis’

Do you feel at home in this space?
Three cosy chairs, coffee and freshly baked cookies. Recreating the homeliness of a room in the public space. Opening the conversation. Connecting different views.
Welkom home!
